Two Federal Funding Opportunities: Deadlines July 21 & July 22

 Application deadline by July 21

The Administration for Children and Families will award grants to improve the economic and physical health of people in areas designated as food deserts through the Community Economic Development Healthy Food Financing Initiative Project.  These are minimum three year projects.  Bonus points awarded to projects that target rural communities.


 Application deadline is July 22

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will award 40 grants through the Partnerships to Improve Community Health program improve health and reduce the burden of chronic diseases.  Proposals must come from multi-sector community coalitions from one of these geographic areas:

o   Large Cities and Urban Counties (with populations of 500,000 or more),

o   Small Cities and Counties (with populations between 50,000-499,999),

o   American Indian tribes and Alaskan Native villages and tribal organizations.
