The Green Bay Packers Mentor-Protégé Program is seeking applicants for its fifth year of partnerships to foster business growth, economic development and job creation. The program matches mentor companies that can provide technical, managerial, financial or other guidance to protégés seeking to improve their competitive standing. The mentor-protégé relationship requires at least a 12-month commitment. Mentors must be established companies with the appropriate resources and the ability to commit to the program and the needs of the protégé.

Packers Mentor-Protégé Program seeking applicants for fourth year 

The Green Bay Packers Mentor-Protégé Program is seeking mentor and protégé applicants for its fourth year of partnerships to foster business growth, economic development and job creation in Brown County and the surrounding areas.

Protégé companies in the program will be matched with mentor companies that can provide technical, managerial, financial or other guidance to improve their competitive standing. The mentor-protégé relationship requires at least a 12-month commitment.

Five matched companies currently finishing their year in the program are Miron Construction, Neenah, and Current Electrical Services, Green Bay; RR Donnelley, De Pere, and Strength of the Hands, De Pere; Bay Towel, Green Bay, and Ascher’s Janitorial Services, Abrams; The Boldt Company, Appleton, and Bonnie Kratz Photography, Luxemburg; and Integrys Energy Services, De Pere, and JT Engineering, Green Bay.

The program is administered by AFF Research LLC (AFFR). AFFR has consulted in the field of supplier diversity for 13 years, and has worked on the Lambeau Field redevelopment project and is working on the current stadium expansion project. AFFR assists their clients in designing and implementing comprehensive supplier diversity program. They also provide guidance to entrepreneurs.

May 28, 2013 the second Green Bay Packers Mentor Protege Program enjoyed a Celebration of Success at Lambeau Field. Bowman was one of several matched with mentors in April 2012. The program matched established mentor companies that can provide technical, managerial, financial or other guidance to protégés seeking to improve their competitive standing. The program’s partnerships aimed to foster business growth, economic development and job creation in Brown County and the surrounding area. Bowman was matched with Vince Schamber of Wipfli. More about Bowman’s match.

At the Celebration the audience enjoyed hearing from Anna Steinfest of AFF Research (video clip of Bowman and Steinfest), Mike Murphy of the Green Bay Packers, Mayor Schmidt, Congressman Ribble, and others. Bowman’s celebration continued with staff and associates of BPC at Curly’s Pub in Lambeau Field.

The Green Bay Packers Mentor-Protégé Program

Mentor-Protégé ProgramThe Green Bay Packers Mentor-Protégé Program was established in 2011 to pair emerging minority- and woman-owned companies (protégés) with established, knowledgeable, and committed companies (mentors) that can provide exposure, appropriate training, resources and experience not readily available to the protégé companies.

The Packers and AFF Research, LLC, administrators of the Mentor-Protégé Program, are committed to the continuing success of the program and to the community of businesses that benefit from it.

Mentors

Any firm, large or small, can be a mentor. The firm must be in good standing and demonstrate a commitment and capability to assist in the development of a protégé small business.

Protégés

The program is currently seeking more protégés. Interested companies should visithttp://affresearch.com/pdfs/ProtegeRequirements.pdf for a list of requirements. A protégé company is a minority- or woman-owned Northeast Wisconsin business in good standing and certified as an M/DBE or W/DBE by an approved governmental or private agency. Among other criteria, a 12-month commitment is required, along with a willingness to provide exchanges and information to the appointed mentor, resulting in an established and mutually beneficial partnership.

The program matches established mentor companies that can provide technical, managerial, financial or other guidance to protégés seeking to improve their competitive standing. The program’s partnerships aim to foster business growth, economic development and job creation in Brown County and the surrounding area.
