Bowman Performance Consulting Wins 2014 Governor’s Marketplace Award

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) collected nominations for the 2014 Marketplace Governor’s Awards. Bowman Performance Consulting of Shawano, Wisconsin was recognized as an Outstanding Small Size Business at the Governor’s Conference on Minority Business Development. Nicole Bowman accepted the award on October 23, 2014 at the Potawatomi Expo Center in Milwaukee during Marketplace 2014. The Marketplace conference was a sold out event with over 600 registered attendees.

The WEDC says, “The Outstanding Business Award recognizes a State Certified Business Enterprise that has demonstrated the capacity to grow over the past five years with plans to continue expansion in the future. Judges will consider revenue growth, employment growth, the company’s strategy for pursuing new opportunities, ability to overcome challenges, and past investments in employee development, business systems, marketing, equipment and other company assets.”

Nicole Bowman is quoted, “I am happy to accept this Outstanding Small Business Award on behalf of Bowman Performance Consulting. I’m just the face of BPC, however. We all work hard to make BPC what it is today. I’d like to thank my vendors who provide legal, consulting, and marketing services as well as my professional services staff who enable me to focus on doing what I do best. I need to thank my staff and subcontractors as well as my clients. A special thank you goes to clients of BPC who have allowed us to work with them, not on them, and with whom we’ve built a strong history that has allowed us to look forward to the future. BPC will continue to expand, overcome challenges, and assist clients in improving performance and building capacity.”

Look How Far We’ve Come!

This post contains excerpts of an internal email sent by Nicole Bowman to her staff. She didn’t know I was going to post it here… You’ll see why the Staff and Consultants of BPC love it here!

130905 - thank you featured imgHello BPC Team:

Many thanks for pushing through some of our tech upgrade/challenges lately, for cross training each other, and for helping our company produce the high quality work/reports that our clients have come to expect.  You are valued and celebrated.  I will say this every payday (and hopefully I also let you know in between by my  calls, texts, e-mails, face2face, and other treats) that I could not do my job at BPC without y’all.  In the last 15 years I cannot honestly say that I have had a better crew working for me (subs and vendors included) than I have in 2013.  It has truly been a good year in so many ways!

So Far in 2013 we Have:
•         trained and retained new staff/subs

•         leveraged existing human and organizational resources to become a more lean/profitable organization

•         strengthened our organizational policies/operations

•         secured new clients in new markets

•         improved cash flow

•         totally grew/revamped our technological infrastructure so we have our own server, new laptops, new desktops, and more state of the art equipment

•         built new social and professional networks through publications, new projects, and innovative social media/technologies

•         have increased BPC’s professional profile, capacities, and reputation locally and nationally

•         provided more volunteer hours and cash or in-kind resources to local and national interests of BPC (minority entrepreneurs, Native American causes, education, and rural/Shawano/community based activities)

o   this is just quick off the top of my head too….. 🙂

I’m enjoying the moment and counting my blessings.  Everyone on this email is one of mine.  So I thank you for the sanity, productivity, and pride I feel with you as part of the BPC team.  It makes me happy, gives me a good quality of life outside of work, and helps me feel like I’m giving something good back to the communities I work in and the projects I work for.   Here is to finishing strong and setting / meeting great goals for 2014.  My door is always open for your input!
