Urban Indian Health Institute Requests Applications for the Community Grants Program: An Indigenous Approach to Overweight and Obesity Education, Prevention, and Management


The 2018-2019 Community Grants Program encourages the use of American Indian and Alaska Native traditional, cultural, and regional knowledge in developing, implementing, and/or supporting obesity education, prevention, and management initiatives among urban Indian communities.


Urban Indian Health Institute is requesting applications from Urban Indian Health Programs, National Urban Indian Family Coalition members, or Urban Indian programs and/or organizations receiving MSPI/DVPI funding. Four grants of $10,000 (distributed over a 12-month period) will be awarded for the time period of September 30, 2018 to September 29, 2019.


Applications are due by August 31, 2018.





UIHI will be holding a pre-application webinar on August 15, 2018 at 10:30am PST where participants will receive an overview of the funding opportunity, timelines for applications submission and processing, and a Q & A session.
